It was in 1903 that AC. Feber and Honig mann reached the Muztagh Pass from Baltoro glacier to explore the area in detail against the Russian and China invasion, became of the Chinese and Russian caravan tried to get over the Muztagh pass at 5422m to built a new caravan route from the North of China to the Indian sub continent, but it does not existed longer because of the high difficult pass to transfer goods from one side to the other.

The British army knew this and started surveying of the Karakorum in 1887 beyond his political reason, it was difficult job to scale the area, after a long time the surveyor did a good job to realize the altitude of peaks and passes in Karakorum and other mountain ranges.
